#thoughts
With the ‘I’ emerges the not-I, or ‘~I’—just as the seed blossoms in the soil it has been planted.
Every time we make the tiniest scratch, every time we change anything, anywhere, we are also affecting infinite not-ingness. Anytime I think a specific thought, , it changes the configuration of from which it arises. In addition, the is an entanglement between the thought and , its “counterpart”—the exact opposite of that thought. Depending on the situation, it could be “I love him”, with its shadow lurking in the darkness, reflecting the thought “I hate him”. Two sides of the same coin. Now this represents all the possible thoughts that you could have thought, but didn’t because you thought that specific thought , as opposed to the opposite thought whose potential is ignited by the original thought, .
Let’s call the , the union of the two, the set of all possible thoughts. Now, we can say that are thoughts past, the thoughts that are being thought right now, and the possible thoughts that may be thought in the future. We know that thoughts are infinitely recyclable, just as emotions are. The strange question is, rather, is it possible to think an original thought?
Note: I have a strange theory that perhaps when all the thoughts have been thought, i.e., the space is completely filled, then that heralds the demise of that conscious species–i.e., a species that can think coherent thoughts.
Because, after all, are the possible thoughts for a thinking being infinite in variety? I would think not. We can only think constrained within our specific context—that is at a certain pace, and only evolve accordingly. There will be a limit that we will reach. Human evolution is not infinite (or endless). Those who believe in the myth of immortality are seriously deluded. For there is nothing in our known universe that is immortal.
So, you respond, who cares if I live a million or a thousand years—at least I am surviving longer than our current lifespan. Imagine dying after living a thousand years… But imagine living a million years! Is that even possible for the human mind?
In fact, I think that is what is becoming very apparent to those who are looking at this behaviour in our pattern, and it seems that the variety of thoughts is very low on the whole. And the amount of original thought is even lower as most of the thoughts are recycled thoughts – thoughts that have already been thought.
There is also the personal cone of thoughts, where which are the personal instance of past, present and future thoughts.
If we did not have to fill our thoughts with the mundanities of our existence, would that vacuum be filled with original, exciting, new thoughts? Doubtful. The factory would already be churning out prefab thoughts. The vacuum would most likely be filled with thoughts of the most base nature. Because unless kept in check, either by self-discipline, or the discipline of our communities, these dark thoughts will sprout like toxic bacteria, and soon infect us all.
There are two levels to our thoughts. The first is the thought before it is fully conscious. Some might refer to it as an intuition, perhaps. Then it is clothed, and will, most likely, now be contained in a cultural milieu. One that includes beliefs, languages, social mores, etc. Similarly, there are two different sets of thoughts.
The acknowledgement of the existence of , the other, the unknown thoughts, is the road to deep insights. It is the road to understanding and wisdom. This way one walks with the knowledge of the awesomeness of the Infinity of Infinities that supports our very existence. This is how to realise that its with us, holding us, supporting our every thought, our every desire and action in its everlasting mercy.
